Does my therapist need to know I'm using this?

Yes — and that's intentional. Sesh is designed to work alongside your therapy, not around it. We recommend letting your therapist know you're recording sessions. Most are supportive; it often makes the work more effective.

Who can see my session recordings?

Only you. Your recordings and transcripts are encrypted, stored privately in your account, and never shared with your therapist, your insurance company, or anyone else. Sesh employees cannot access your session content.

Is Sesh a replacement for therapy?

No. Sesh is a between-session tool — it helps you remember and apply what you worked on in your actual therapy sessions. It doesn't provide therapy, diagnoses, or clinical advice. If you're in crisis, please contact your therapist or a crisis line directly.

What if I'm having a mental health emergency?

Sesh is not a crisis tool. If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room.

How does the AI chat work?

After each session, Sesh creates a summary of what you discussed. The between-session chat is grounded in that summary — it can help you revisit insights, work through action items, or just process what came up. It's not a generic chatbot; it only knows what you talked about in your session.

Will this work with any therapist?

Yes, as long as you have their knowledge and consent to record sessions. Sesh doesn't integrate directly with your therapist's systems — it's entirely on your side.
