Your client is using Sesh to help them remember and stay engaged with what you discuss in session. Here's what that means for you.
The client owns their data. Recordings and notes are encrypted at rest and in transit. Nothing is shared with your practice, your EHR, or any third party. The client can delete all their data at any time.
Before every upload, the client confirms: “My therapist knows I'm recording this session.” We recommend that you and your client have an explicit conversation about recording. Many practitioners find that clients who can review session content between appointments show better retention and follow-through.
If Sesh's AI detects crisis language (suicidal ideation, self-harm, abuse disclosure), it immediately stops the conversation and displays: a warm redirect to you by name, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and clear instructions to reach out. It does not attempt to intervene. Every crisis event is logged for your client's safety.
Sesh was built by Param Kulkarni, Ph.D., a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) with 10+ years building AI/ML in healthcare and behavioral health. He's worked at LinkedIn, Headspace Health, and Axon, co-founded AwareHealth (ML for coach-led communities), and maintains an active coaching practice. Sesh is designed with clinical safety as a core architectural principle, not an afterthought.
Questions? Your client can put you in touch with the founder directly. He's happy to walk through how Sesh works, answer clinical questions, or discuss how session recordings can support your therapeutic goals.
